VACANCY : JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT

We are looking for a Junior Accountant to join our team. The Junior Accountant is responsible for assisting the Financial Manager in managing financial transactions, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 Financial Transactions

  • Assist with the rollout of the new ERP system and ensure the weekly wage records are correct.
  • Assist the Financial Manager with the review of creditors recons.
  • Accounts payable function
  • Assist in the preparation for audits and tax filings.
  • Maintain and update financial records.
  • Assist in the analysis of financial data.
  • Provide support to the Financial Manager and other team members as needed.

Month-end Processes

  • Assist in preparing month-end journals and accruals.
  • Assist in preparing month-end reports and analysis.
  • Participate in month-end closing activities.

Administration

  • Comply with company authority limits.
  • Enter financial transactions into the system.
  • Assist in conducting financial audits.
  • Other related duties as assigned from time to time.

Discipline

  • Maintain appropriate discipline at all times.
  • Carry out all reasonable instructions given.
  • Promote and follow company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain good timekeeping.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree/diploma in Accounting or Finance
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance
  • Proficiency in accounting software (including wage system) and Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

 Package

  • R20 000 - R25 000 CTC (including medical aid & provident fund)

  • Must be prepared to write psychometric tests, and achieve acceptable results.

Training opportunity for 10 unemployed Learners in Wellington National Certificate in Leather Manufacturing processes.

Our Journey: Drying

**National Certificate in Leather Manufacturing processes**

 INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROGRAMME:
• The program will last until competency is achieved - approx. 8 months.
• Successful learners will sign a contract with Mossop Leather and the FP&M Seta.
• The learners will be paid a Stipend of R676 per week (full 5 days, 42 hours per week)
• Practical factory work (75% of the time) on the factory floor, and Classroom work (25% of the
time).
• At the end of the Learnership, successful learners will receive a nationally recognised
qualification.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Must have passed Gr 12.
• Must have passed Mathematics Literacy and English Second Language at level 4 (50-59%);
• or Mathematics and English First Language at level 2 (30-39%).
• Must be prepared to undergo Aptitude (psychometric) testing.
• Must be prepared to undergo medical screening and a drug test.
• Must be prepared to start with the program in February 2023.
• Must reside in Wellington/Paarl area.
• Must be physically strong, healthy and fit.
